Tea Brewing - Instructions

HOW TO BREW THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA

Preparing a cup of tea is simple. But, to brew the perfect infusion, having the right tools, and the right background, makes a world of difference in giving you an unparalleled experience.

TEA BREWING BASICS

Simple ways to get the perfect cup

WATER

The quality of tea is affected by the quality of water used to prepare it. Start with filtered water. If possible, avoid brewing tea with tap, distilled, or mineral water. Try not to over-boil water, which can result in flat-tasting tea.

PREHEATED TEA POT

A warm teapot will maintain the requisite temperature for superior tasting brewed tea. While the water is heating, pour hot water into your teapot and cups, let sit, and then drain completely.

TEA BAGS

Whether black, green, or herbal, use one Mighty Leaf whole leaf tea bag per 12 ounces or cup of water. Simply follow the steeping times detailed on the outer foil or tea tag to make the perfect brew of tea.

LOOSE LEAF TEA

Prepare Mighty Leaf whole leaf loose teas using an infuser, paper tea sachet, or other traditional brewing method. Depending upon the tea type, use one teaspoon to one tablespoon per 12 ounces of water.

Many of our loose leaf teas and tea bags are good for multiple infusions. Simply add more hot water over the leaves and increase infusion times to achieve the desired flavor.

STEEPING TIMES BY TYPE OF TEA

Although we recommend the proportions and steeping times below to brew your tea, we invite you to experiment with and tailor each tea cup to to your own flavor and strength preferences.

You can find directions on how long to brew a specific tea blend on each individual Mighty Leaf tea tag or loose leaf tea tin.
